2. Your rights as a data subject
You have the right at any time to:
- request information about the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- request correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- request deletion of your data held by me (Art. 17 GDPR)
- request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- object to the processing of your data (Art. 21 GDPR)
- request data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); the competent authority is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).
3. Server log files
When you access this website, my hosting provider automatically collects technical access data (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser used) in server log files. This is necessary for the technically error-free and secure operation of the website (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR).
The website is hosted by SKRIME (sole proprietorship Tom Gewiese, Obernaglbach 2, 94259 Kirchberg im Wald, Germany). The server is located in the SkyLink data centre in Eygelshoven, Netherlands, so processing takes place within the European Union. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.
4. Contact form
If you send me a request via the contact form, the data you provide (name, email address, message) is processed for the purpose of handling your request (Art. 6 (1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Sending is handled through my email service provider Spacemail (Spaceship, Inc.); your data is not stored in my own database, but forwarded to me by email.
To prevent abuse (spam protection), your IP address is additionally processed briefly in my server's memory and not stored permanently.
Transfer to the USA. Spacemail is operated by Spaceship, Inc., 4600 East Washington Street, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85034, USA. Your enquiry is therefore transferred to the USA. A data processing addendum is in place with the provider which incorporates the European Commission's standard contractual clauses of 4 June 2021 (implementing decision 2021/914, module 2) as a safeguard under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR.
Automated content screening. Under Spacemail's terms of service, email content transmitted without encryption is screened automatically for spam, malware and unlawful content. The provider reserves the right to use OpenAI's moderation tool for this purpose. Content screened there is not used to train models and is not retained after screening, except for abuse-monitoring logs kept for up to 30 days.
Retention. I delete your enquiry once it has been dealt with conclusively, unless statutory retention obligations apply. In addition, your data may be contained in the email provider's backups for up to four weeks.
5. Website test (PageSpeed)
On the “Services” page you can have any web address checked with Google PageSpeed Insights. The address you enter is sent to my server and from there to Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA); Google fetches the page and returns the result (Art. 6 (1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Your IP address is not passed on to Google, as the request originates from my server. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
To limit the number of requests, your IP address is briefly processed in my server's memory and not stored. Results are cached for up to one hour; the address you enter is not stored permanently. Please do not enter addresses containing personal parameters.
The client preview at preview.nextech.codes can only be reached with an access code or password. After a successful login it stores one strictly necessary cookie (pv_access) that only remembers access to the approved previews for 30 days. It contains no personal data and is used for neither audience measurement nor tracking (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). This website itself sets no cookie.
6. No cookies, no tracking
This website does not use cookies or any analytics or tracking services. Your choice of appearance (light/dark) is stored only locally in your browser (localStorage) and is not transmitted to me.
7. Changes to this privacy notice
I reserve the right to update this privacy notice whenever changes to the website or the services used (e.g. choice of hosting provider) make this necessary.
